Apia’s Tours and Activities for Adults
The South Pacific trend of an adults-only getaway, whether it be a trip with the guys, gals or that special someone, or perhaps to have a break from your own dearies, is slowly making its way to Samoa, particularly to Apia! Not only does the capital offer an epic night out with bars, clubs and even a casino, but enjoying your R&R time undisturbed comes easily with day spas, private fishing charters, golf courses and even an adults-only hotel. So plan your city escape with said guys, gals or that special someone mixing in these awesome adults-only activities in Apia.

1. Discover Apia’s Vibrant Nightlife
Whether your vibe is kicking back with sundowner cocktails or dancing into the wee hours, Apia has the bars and nightclubs for an unforgettable night out. The Apia Marina is where much of the party is if you want to mingle with locals and expats. Plan your night using The Guide to Upolu Nightlife + 5 Things to Do on Upolu at Night.
Location: All over Apia! See the 10 Best Bars in Apia for recommendations and locations.
2. Try Your Luck at Samoa’s Only Casino
Unmissable on the Apia Harbour, mainly because it’s a multi-storey bright white building right next to the historic Aggie Grey Hotel, Whitesands Casino is Samoa’s only casino. The gambling joint is exclusively open to foreign passport holders, so take your passport to have access to gaming tables, slot machines and two bars, while live DJ sets usually add to the ambience on Friday and Saturday nights. The casino is open from 2 pm to 2 am daily. Samoa Scenic offers free transfers between Apia accommodations and the casino, should you need a ride.
Location: Beach Road, Apia (next to Aggie Grey’s Hotel).
3. Treat Yourself at a Spa
Apia boasts a number of day spas for you to effortlessly find your zen. From cultural therapeutic massages to top-of-the-line beauty treatments, there are spas in Apia to truly make yourself feel 100%! What’s more, there are some very reasonable massage rates going around, so compare your options with the 5 Best Spas in Apia and start reviving.

4. Join a Yoga Class
On the subject of wellness, Apia is another beautiful place in Samoa to do yoga. Either join a class, such as on weekday mornings at Taumeasina Island Resort, or book Yoga Samoa for a one-on-one or group session at your chosen accommodation. Discover all of your options in the 10 Best Places to Experience Yoga in Samoa.
Location: Taumeasina – Taumeasina Road, Taumeasina.
5. Hire a Private Fishing Charter
Swap a day of hustle and bustle in Apia for a day out on the water reeling in the big ones. Fishing is a way of life here on the islands, so there’s no lack of experienced fisherfolk who can show you the lines on a private fishing excursion. Troppo Fishing Adventures is your go-to charter in Apia, but new ones are cropping up all the time, so check them out in the 10 Best Fishing Charters in Samoa.
Location: Apia Marina, Beach Road.
6. Tee Off at Apia’s Golf Courses
If you’re looking for a destination that naturally isn’t swarming with families, then you’re bound to find sanctuary at one of Apia’s two golf courses. The Faleata Golf Course and Royal Samoa Country Club are both park courses boasting 18 holes of challenges each winding through the coconut palms. Find the most suitable course for you in The Complete Guide to Golf in Samoa.
Location: Faleata Golf Course – Talimatau Road. Royal Samoa Country Club – Plantation Road.
7. Get Away From the Crowds with a Private Dining Experience
Forget crowded restaurants. If you seek that “adults-only” experience for a more romantic vibe, then treat yourself and your loved one to one of Apia’s private dining experiences. Taumeasina Island Resort offers an exclusive experience where guests indulge in a three-course dinner with bubbles either on your room’s balcony or by the beach. For similar experiences, check out the 10 Most Romantic Things to Do in Apia.
Location: Taumeasina – Taumeasina Road, Taumeasina.
8. Stay at an Adults-Only Hotel
That’s right, there is a hotel in Apia that is exclusively for more mature guests. That means no tantrums at the pool and no overenthusiastic families in the next room (although, we can’t guarantee they’ll be no overenthusiastic adults). Vaea Hotel Samoa is your kids-free hotel in Apia, offering a boutique accommodation ambience with a cute outdoor pool surrounded by gardens, as well as an on-site cafe. Learn more about the hotel in The Best Adults-Only Resorts in Samoa.
Location: Togafu’afu’a Road, Lalovaea.
