1. Sails Restaurant Live Polynesian Show – The Best Fiafia Night with a Live Band
Thursday night is Fiafia Night at the Sails Restaurant & Bar, and it’s the only one in Apia with a live band! Overlooking the placid waters of the Apia Harbour from the far end of the Mulinuu Peninsula, Sails offers an attractive locale for a night of Polynesian food, song and dance.
Indulge in South Pacific-inspired cuisine from the buffet as you watch the sun go down. Once night falls (or, at around 8 pm, whichever comes first), the drums begin to beat, and the dancers perform on the waterfront deck with a number of dances from across the South Pacific Islands.
Get ready for an unforgettable evening as the live band plays throughout the night, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Of course, no fiafia would be complete without the all-essential siva afi fire performance!
Location: Sails Restaurant, Mulinuu Road, Mulinuu Peninsula, Apia.

Before the show, you’ll be treated to sumptuous Polynesian cuisine at the buffet, which we certainly were on our last visit. With good food and entertaining dancing, it all culminates in a spectacular fire knife (siva afi) performance!
If you miss the fiafia night, don’t worry, as the Saturday night Maeva String Band and Culture Show with an international buffet is an excellent alternative.
Location: Return to Paradise Resort, Lefaga village, Matautu, southwest coast of Upolu.

You’ll be treated to traditional Samoan dances, an ‘ava ceremony, and impressive coconut demonstrations. The show’s finale? An awe-inspiring siva afi fire dance that’ll leave you breathless!
What makes this fiafia night extra special is the personal touch – the owner, hailing from the Cook Islands and a former dance teacher, infuses the event with authentic Pacific flair. And here’s a little bonus: Le Manumea boasts one of the best drink deals on the island with an all-day happy hour. Now that’s something to raise your glass to!
